Juvederm to cheeks

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are products that are injected into the skin to ‘plump up’ or ‘accentuate’ parts of the face and other areas of the body such as the backs of hands. Popular treatmens include lip filler injections and anti wrinkle injections.

Why are Dermal Fillers used?

Dermal Fillers are excellent in the treatment of static lines such as the naso-labial lines (lines from the nose to the mouth), oral commissures (lines from the corners of the mouth) and smokers or fines lines around the mouth.

Dermal Fillers are also commonly used to augment the lip and enhance its appearance. They can also be used to accentuate the cheek bones, and to plump up the backs of the hands.

Combining anti-wrinkle injections with dermal fillers will improve your overall appearance.

Dermal fillers can do more than just smooth out wrinkles. They can reshape the jawline, treat acne scars and correct facial asymmetry, as well as helping the overall texture of the skin.

Often, wrinkle reduction can be modest when the facial structure is not restored, so it is important to consider treatment from the very surface of the skin, down to the supporting structures of the face for a more holistic, rejuvenated look.

How do Dermal Fillers work?

A wide variety of products are available on the market now, and depending on the specific problem and area, a product can be matched to your requirement and expectations.

Are Dermal Filling treatments safe?

Yes.  Each year tens of thousands of patients receive Dermal Fillers, with few side effects.

What is the treatment like?

Dermal Fillers give a dramatic and exciting result!  Most of the time the result is instantaneous.  You may need a local anaesthetic if treated in the lips, but most of the time ice or numbing gel is all that is needed.

Are there any side effects or complications?

Bruising can sometimes occur in the treated area.  Initially, some clients may experience some unevenness. This is usually subtle and can be corrected once the swelling has gone down.

What results can I expect?

Dermal fillers can ‘fill’ and ‘plump’ areas of the face that have become saggy and wrinkled due to sun damage and general ageing.  They can give a ‘fresher’ look, and result in a more youthful appearance.

What are the limitations of Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are only a temporary solution for the treatment of lines and wrinkles.  Depending on the product used, the results can last from 6 months to 2 years.
